I think it would be better to just post the tracks on the site (or whereever the compo is hold), and only the organizator can see it. Next he changes the names of the mp3/ogg's with random numbers so participators can't rate their best buddy's track as highest

Oh, I also think it's quite unfair to trackers, tracked music can't just beat high quality shit which is made with the newest software, quality wise that is. So if we are gonna let in Tracked AND Seqeunced (or whatever else) we shouldn't drop the tracked music only because of the poor quality... I know there are exceptions, and I actuakly think they need some extra attentoin

Very good point, Peter, about the hidden names. Really.
I agree, it would be nice to have a big compo. But, as said before, it needs plans and rules. Just start a compo like this would not benefit anything to the members, the site and would be damn hard to pick the winner (so many different things to compare and judge - for this we have the new song section and charts).
Last time we discussed this, I tried to organise a CTG hymn (theme, CTG song, whatever you call) compo. Who likes this? |

Everyone should suggest their rules they want and then we should make one of the best ideas there have came

Personally I think things like this should not be done by committee - it's a nice thought, but the process would be protracted by either conflicting interests or a large round of indifference; given how much attention Slog got with his compo, I suspect it would be the latter.
Doriath:
Nice idea. It would be a good starting point.

I know this should be done by staff. What are you waiting for let them know you want it, maybe that way it will happen faster
Keep it up, don't stop. |

Bullshit, new trackers like Renoise can produce the same quality sound as the most expencive shit. That's why I use Renoise and not the expensive sequencers. Listen to my tracks, they are all tracked. Do they sound bad? Low quality?

I ment trackers in overall, like good old IT/FT2/S3M etc...

But that's kindda nonesence... One can also mean sequencers in overall, Cubase was already introduced on 8 - bit Atari, so I think it was not a good example....
