I need help on this.
I just decided to try Renoise. It really rocks, but there's one little thing.
When you do realtime recording, you want to use some controller knobs, especially pitch bend. The problem is, when I move pitch bend, numbers are added to the effect column and eventually I don't get smooth pitch slides, but 'steps', you know what I mean. Is there a way to make the recorded stuff sound _exactly_ like while playing?
I know there are all those automation, MIDI CC Device thingies, but I want that to work while I'm playing.
And on the subject of MIDI CC - how do you actually use the thing?
So there. I count on you, Renoise fellaz!

well, with advanced edit, in the tabs on the bottom, you can interpolate certain effect values... this way you can create a smoother pitch bend by interpolating empty bars.
another option is to select a lower speed to increase the speed (doesn't sound quite right now does it ) This way you can use more values and make the pitch bending more precies
MidiCC messages I don't exactly know how they work.. for VSTi plug there is this 'VSTIautomatedevie' which can ben found under the track DSP tab..
In here it's possible to change every setting a vst has.
about sending CC messages to synths, in the midi properties under the Config tab.. select you incoming synth midi data adress as your input... twist a knob and the extact value will be put in the effects column as wel... now you know the value you're editing and you can edit it as you like to control your synths remember to select the correct midi output in Intrument tab

The problem is there are no empty bars, that why the pitch is jumping.

Yeah, but then I'd have to set the speed to 1 to get the desired effect...

The only way to solve this problem is to increase the resolution of your MOD by incresing the speed and/or BPM.
That's why the devs are planning to completely change the resolution of Renoise in future releases. Not in 1.5 though.

Yeah, it's a huge problem, although it's mostly caused by the tracker legacy, not by Renoise itself.
Although, you can be sure it's on the to-do list, so one day the way of handling resolutions in Renoise wioll change completely. By that time Renoise will also become more expensive (actually the version 1.5 will be already more expensive.

Now it appears it was the least problem... Now renoise started to behave really bad. It crashes, can't load songs, takes all memory for no particular reason... You never had such problems?

No problems like that over here
if you run winxp try to run renoise in win nt mode (you can modify this in the shortcut settings i believe).
this trick made buzz work amazingly good, while it kept crashing before this minor change

Thanks, I'll try it at home. Although the funny thing is, it worked perfectly a while before...
