Hmm.. I voted yes, but I don't know.. I think reviewing should be like it is now.
But it would be benificial to those new to reviewing I guess.. I'm not sure.
Good question!

I think we allready have that but in different shape. New reviewers will learn when their reviews will be reported as bad ones and they will be asked to edit them. Moderators also explain what is wrong and what needs to be changed so i think after some reports everyone can learn how to write good reviews and we can call this a probation or learning period.

thats right, but you mods could be more specific in your explanation of whats wrong in the review...'cause the way it is now you only get very short answers, and that may be difficult too understand if your new(or old?), at least i feel that way sometimes!...but that trial/test thingy imo wouldnt work out very well! there is only one way...the CTG way

Unless you're totally naive, you should know better. The reason the first two sites are down is because of financial problems, not because of their commitment to quality reviews.

I would disagree with this, because when reviews get reported, I've seen reports declined for reasons such as "They are only expressing their opinion". Which would be fine if the reviewer was expressing their opinion of the song, but check out the hooplah on DJMirage's sole tune on the site... You have complete newbie reviewers who are writing a short paragraph after listening to a song one time through or less, and are solely reviewing for a RotW spot, or are stubborn when they are asked to change their reviews and refuse to.
I for one could care less what the score is (0.0 and 10.0 are an exception... you have to earn both), but new reviewers have a problem keeping comments to the comments section of the page, and mixing them in with their review. One or two off comments in a review is okay, but when your reviewer of the week is giving a review to something that, by his own review, the song's "technical skills doesn't deserve even a review", among many other things, there's a problem that needs to be addressed.

Ew. I've not had a review returned to me yet, so I can't speak for this... but yes, please detail your reports back to us so we know what we should be doing.
One thing that I will say is good is the openness of the system here... reviewers can review what they want, when they want, and that is very good. I feel that a probation system could work well with this, without disrupting the openness.
