yes, another one of these topics!
I think man's motivation takes persuit into two classes confidence and arrogance. The mediation of this is really important. Where is the line drawn for you guys? All that is really evident is the fact that confidence is a prerequisite of survival. As the amount of confidence approaches zero, it is also say that people really seem less important.
Confidence's goal is to instill the feeling of importance into an individual.
Arrogance's goal is to instill the taste of power on an individual.
Even as you post here, you are confident that your answers are intelligent and legible, but to what extent is this the case, and to what extent are you smarter than someone, dumber than someone, and what implications does knowledge change your posting behaviour?

I believe I can be somewhat arrogant and pompus with it. At the same time, I believe my posts are confident, or I wouldn't post at all.
The extent I think I am smarter, or dumber to someone is irrelevant. I firmly believe that everyone has a pro's and con's, making us all unique, but at the same time making us all equal to other. I don't believe for a minute that I'm better than somebody, and at the same time, I don't believe someone is better than me. I mean this in a general context covering all apsects, not in certain areas.
Knowledge itself doesn't change my posting behaviour - my behaviour, as it were, its primarily down to my personality - who I am, not what I know.
EDIT: Thinking you're better than somebody contrues as 1337ism, and I hate that
I'm pissed at the world, can you tell? |

Today I lost a hundred dollar bill, so I am pissed.
So at least for now I am not very confident in my ability to keep track of a hundred dollar bill.

Dammit slammy, thats what I would have wrote if I were as good as you!
honestly though, arrogance is fueled by the idea that you are better than anyone,
confidence is fueled by the knowledge that you´re good, but only you, not in relation to anyone else. The difference between the two is the prescence or lack of selfesteem, if you think you´re an ok person, you´ll have confidence, if you think you suck, you got arrogance.
