There are a lot of free sites to upload music to. Some of them require creating a profile and registering with their site in order to download music. This is fine if you are actually a member of that site, but what about those of us that aren't? Should we have to register at sites we don't care about in order to download music from an artist? Or should an artist have to upload his music to sites that don't require an account to download from?
It's a sticky situation, as some can argue that we need to provide something to the site in return for using their bandwidth to download a tune. Yet, with so many free services where you can upload music to without having to register to download, some can argue that uploading to a site that requires registration is pointless.
Your thoughts?

and i think lots of us hate it with sites like this, i never download anything if i have to register for it..

I dont understand as an artist why anyone would host music in a place like this. Here's the way I see it:
If you download my song, you are doing me a favor. So I dont want to make you have to go through page after page of another site, and esepecially I dont expect anyone to have to fill out forms. Its ridiculous.
When I right click the "Save As..." next to an artists song, I am DONE. Most of the time I will end up recieving an mp3 or zip, but on many occations I get something like "track.php" or "index.php" , and I never go back to try to download the song again, cause usually I can't even remember what the song was supposed to be or who the artist was.
There are plenty of places like modulez that offer FREE direct linking, and then there is my service, HostShuttle which is very affordable. I think if anyone really wants to get their music out they will post on one of these places.

I agree, if a track-download need other registrations, i don't download it for the following motivations:
- I'm too lazy...
- Why i must do other registration?
- I'm too lazy...
- A direct link is ever the best!
- I'm too lazy...
- Isn't good spend a time to make your registration in another community only for download a track... - I'm too lazy...
- You can ever register yourself on Modulez.org, upload your tracks on the Modulez FTP space and use direct links without any registrations of the downloaders...
- I'm too lazy...
- In the time that i must spend for the registration i can drunk a beer...
- I'm too lazy...
