Here is a list of some basic freeware VST FX you would need to get things started. There aren't any exotic fx here which only their author know what they actually do, I only listed things which most of us are already familiar with. As a starting point, however, was to find quality (no synthedit stuff here) basic freeware effects that would replace those, in my case, in reason.

You can read this tutorial in our community area.

About the mda plugs, check out detune. Simple, but great in a chain that needs to phatten a lead or a bassline.

Oh yeah, a free effect i like very much is the Pianoverb.
An effect that simulates stringresonance (like a string or thin surface vibrating after been hit)

Very useful for bringing life into stiff and boring percussion samples :martini:
Could be used for fx sounds too :)

Download here!!

A favourite set of plugins for me is the SimulAnalog Guitar Suite... It's got Distortion, Overdrive, Univibe, Tube Simulator, and 2 amp simulators. It can really make guitar stuff shine.

PSP is a polish company :ye:

PianoVerb is really nice, you can use it to make really bizzare effects. It's also useful to simulate the REAL effect that is when you hold sustain pedal in a piano. I've never heard a piano simulation (or even a digital piano) that took this important effect into consideration.
