I've been discovering covulation reverberation lately.
Description of SIR as well as some good free impulse responses will follow.

Guidances towards good impulses are wellcome! (I've currently got
the complete lexicon stuff :) )

UPDATE: Added SIR

So far i've been trying the Lexicon 960L impulses extensively , and this is some heavy shit to beat with any of the VST CPU reverbs.

Do you have any good links to impulse responses, particularly the Lexicon ones you mentioned? Or are they commercial?

EDIT: I've found a set of IRs here. Is this what you meant with the Lexicon 960L IRs?

Thanks, didn't realise it was updated in the tutorial too. I'm downloading a Lexicon set of impulses through eMule as well, though I guess this might include the same as posted on that site anyway. I wonder if they'll work with the Waves IR-1 though. :?:

And I want the t.c. electronic Reverb 6000 impulse responses. :excited:

Yep, I noticed that they're all WAV files and the IR-1 opens those too.

I found another site with lots of impulse responses here: http://www.audioease.com/IR/audioeaseirs.html

Anyone tried the products of SmartElectronics? (http://www.smartelectronix.com/)
I noticed someone mentioned one of their products here, but they seem to have allot more on their site.

I haven't tried anything, cuz I just ran into it, but I thought I'd mention for you to check out as well.

UPDATE: Added GCOMP compressor from GVST.

It got an interesting feature of showing you what you compress and by how much
graphicaly with waveform display. Really a must have compressor if you don't have golden ears or super expensive monitors :)

I just hope people won't try to make their music as squashed and loud as possible, but otherwise I think it's quite nice to be able to see what you're doing. In the end it's all about how it sounds though, not how smooth the waveform is, but you're right, if you don't have the equipment or the ears then it's certainly a nice option to start with.
