Pro sound is just a sound that is produced using the "pro rules' and worth enough a quality release.

It is just like 1+1=2 .... somthing that cannot be agreed with just a opinion.

"pro" sound is just a fact ....

i bought my Alesis Monitor 1 MK2's for around £250 with an Alesis Amp also.

opinion? they sound awesome, the ranges are so flat, you can hear pefectly how your track sounds.

For headphone monitors, Sennheiser HD 25 SP will do you wonders, around £80 - well worth the money however!

Ok

When I see "pro sound" I immidiatly think of commercial orientated trance. Dunno why, it's just like that. But now I see you mention "pro in their own style" I CAN agree with you... heh, never mind :D

A "pro" person is someone who earns money for doing something. Of course, there might be lousy pros (eg, in countries where an activity is not developed and therefore their pros are like other countries amateurs). But when one talks about "pro" sound, one talks about the sound of the average pro, which will be better than the one of the average amateur.

hmmz, 500 EUR is too much. that would make me go bankrupt.

Cheapest monitors cost something about 200euros.
For example in Europe the dutch online music shop called thomann has loads of different kind of monitors. ( www.thomann.de )
Many musician says that the Behringer Truths are best monitors in price per quality. The pairprice in thomann is 315 EUR.
You could check for example www.soundonsound.com and use quickfind (iex. word: monitors) to find reviews of monitors. The prices on soundsonsound are estimates or out-of-date, so try to find cheap monitors you like and then try to find a dealer for them with nice price...

Does anyone know how good Roland MA 8 monitors are? I suspect the only thing they have in common with monitors is their name  They are PC speakers, and I've just seen some bad comments about them. Their prize is really reasonable: around 100 dollars. Most important of all: I can get those here where I live :D Some first rate Yamaha monitors are available too, but those are *very* expensive.
