Well, I have no experiences to make music with hardware so I can't say it is a bad thing, it is probably better. But personally I prefer software, Renoise (tracker), because it gives me total control of everything.

Why should I buy an expencive hardwaresynth (even though I have money) while there are free software ones on the net?

Show me software that can be in any way compared to V-Synth....

There are many advantages of using hardware synths. For example you don't have to care about CPU usage, if the synth has analogue modelling you also get a better (warm) sound. It's also much easier to use such things in live performance than software, and much more effective. And most of all... No GUI can beat real knobs. I'm dreaming of any synth, so I can sit in front of it and just tweak it whole day :) . Really, it's the feeling that is impossible to get using any kind of interface, nor some MIDI controllers.

Yep. I'd like also tweak some real knobs instead of virtual ones with a mouse. It's the feeling, like most of people (dj's) doesn't like to spin cd's because it ruins the feeling :)
