Call me stupid, but I really like this idea. I actually had some similiar thoughts about this before as well, but I didn't expected it would be popular.

I wasn't aggressive. I just went straight to the point  What I predict will happen if we do this is that there will be thousands of commercial tracks for review, because each one of us knows groups others don't (for geographic reasons). Most of them will go unreviewed. And if they are reviewed, the number of reviews of our tracks will decrease. Besides, most commercial tracks will be overrated, because they will be reviewed mostrly by their fans, and because they have been professionally produced, and everyone knows that sound quality is overrated in this community.

Hmm PPh, seems you considered it bit different way  I saw it like a counterpartt to reviews here, you'd see how I ( or anyone who reviews and rates commercial song) evaluate professional music. A kind of tied-up to commercial world.  |

I have to agree with PPH. Also, some people like some things, other people like other things, so you're at best going to get a mixed reaction, if that isn't totally polarised.
I think it's better to concentrate on the grass roots of the site before gallivanting off on a tangent.

i like this idea... but i don't like the way like: You open a topic with the title, the poll with the score etc...
It need something like a "Commercial reviews section" or other...
It's quite bad if everyone open 10000 topics of his favourites songs...

I actually don't like the idea due to the nature of commercial music. I kind of hope that our goal is to take away the focus from the commercial music industry we have now.
Usually, that music is produced so the masses will like it, so the labels get thir money, but there's like no orginality at all. I don't want that we set our standards in that kind of music. Let's follow our own path instead of theirs... [and so on]
