the highs sound weird...  sounds like it was run through some cheap room enhancer... I like the quality of the previous mixes better |

Damn, I knew it. I runned the mix through the compressor and limiter from T-racks 
I shouldn't have done that..... |

yeah bad move bro... limiter!!!! *buzzer* no way... you could have at least run it through a compressor with a 3:1 ratio to make sure the mix volumes are level, but not squash it in limiter.... really bad move dude
Most of these tracks are already squashed in compression anyway so using a strong limiter will just make them sound weak and powerless.
Don't know if you also attempted to EQ it as well, but I'm listening to the mix in whole and on the first track especially the highs are WAYY too high... infact my left ear is ringing |

yeah the first track had the annoying highs and the rest the highs were squashed by the limiter..
Sorry man I didn't like this mix a bit... the tracks have no punch to them... probably due the overcompression... transitions were okay... the track selection wasn't interesting either... I can tell May didn't have many trance hits on CTG :
Not only was the signal overcompessed but I guess due to the fact it was a digital software compressor without tube distortion emulation, it sounded very cold and raspy. You might have been better off just running it through a Voxengo Elephant VST (it's a limiter but if you set the input pretty low it won't squash the entire mix and it'll sound good)just a tad... or a nice hardware DBX compressor.
I was in argument with myself whether to give a 3 or a 2, but due to the fact that this was a labor of love, I gave it a 3.

i think your making a too bigger deal over the quality of the mix - this mix as well as the others really does demostrate the rich talent which we have here on CTG.
I have now listened to the entire mix and enjoyed every minute of it, thank you to AKiSeY for putting together 61 minutes of such enjoyable trance as well as all you talented producers that featured on the mix for putting together such nice tunes   |
