there are probably millions of things you don't know then. anything that other programs do, can be done with FL, except use an effect or generator designed for another platform (except buzz)

Simply: If you have LP (lowpass) filter, the cutoff (cutoff frequency) value sets the frequency, above which the sound will be cutoff, since the lower are passed. :)

So if you have a filtrer with cutoff set to 4 khz, frequencies above 4 are removed.
