Oh, and sweep1.wav would be nice too. The sample is too short and it just cuts off. :( Or is it an original wave sample that was already like that? Plus there's noise in the background and the reverb is all messed up. Early reflections are too dense and unrealistic, and because the sample cuts, there's no tail either. Maybe I should just make all the samples myself from scratch, as the original sounds might actually make for a more interesting remix.

Well, pitch shifting a flute 1 seminote shouldn't be any problem, if the software has a good pitch shifting algoritm. Nobody would notice anything strange :)
Fortunately, my music is much more interesting than my posts.

Thansk, I'll give it a try in Sound Forge then seeing as though I think that's the only pitch shifting software I have that preserves duration. Or is there a better alternative?

On second thought, I think the fact that the vocal is 1 semitone out of tune with the rest of the music does create an interesting tension of course. I so think I'm cursed to make everything sound perfect when it comes to music, as in perfecly volume balanced, perfectly in tune with eachother, EQed only with linear phase crossovers, compressed right to the nearest ms and so forth. It does make for an impressive result though :lovemusic: , but my computer really can't keep up with what I get it to do anymore.

A tip for Cheyenne if she reads this though: Record your vocals as loud as possible without clipping the signal to get the best signal to noise ratio. There's so much noise in these vocals, and remixing this track makes me so much more aware of them, and all the other flaws of the original track so much more now.

Been there, done that,....you won't believe how many machines there are in everybody's house who's noise you only notice when you're longing for peace 'n quiet. starting with this damned pc (its a love-hate relationship between us:) )

you can always leave me out of your mix...

Ah, I see what you mean. It's a case of there just being too much background noise then. Cos if you had turned the gain up more before recording then you still would've ended up with all the noise there. Oh well.

And no, no way I'm leaving you out of it - it's an important part of it. I should really be thankful that you did record them as dry as they are anyway. Leaves me the possibility to put you over 200 metres away with reverb. ;)
