OMG ,
This is getting out of hand !
EVRYONE is allowed to just copy melodies or do a remix .
You are just limited in it ...... so yes powerbass remix is ok , there is nothign wrong with it .... "copyright" on melodies is just plain bull shit .
When you do a remix as an amateur your are not alowed to :
- Copy a song exactly , so just change the structure a bit , and you have a remix
- Sell the remix without permission from the original artist or the recordlabel.
- Use recorded parts from the original , or samples from the original.
This actually goes for covers too ....
for example , if I do some trance beat , put the Axel F melody on it , and call the song "hi ha dogdick" instead of Axel f , there is no problem at all .
I suggest that the staff get their information right before just bitching around like this. |

He is wrong, I agree about the cover and remix being different , but it still is connected to each other .
Besides that it doesn't take away what I said , if you leave the cover/remix issue out of it . |

Yes but for amateur producers on this site it is no problem to do a "so called" remix .
Just be sure you don't use recorded parts and samples from the original , and that you don't "sell" it to a label without permission .
Then it is good to go ....
Even "pro" artist just share there remixes that never will be released , or just produced by them because they want to . |

Maybe so , fact is you will only be dealing with things as "legal stuff" in the music industry when you are going to be in it yourself by releasing your material officially .
Anyway , I just wanted to point it out , you don't have to believe me ..... to me it is what all labels I am signed to told me .... they have pretty simulair opinions about the remix issue.
I just wanna share that knowledge , so np if anyone has other opinions. |
