For me it just makes me think of "Twisted MC", nasty DNB tracker who for me was one of the greater insperations starting out tracking.
Anyway, Partysan, with all these ideás and topics you have opened, and said you would like to work with, it seems you have ALOT of time over. I think you have to much balls in the air, and I think you will end up with doing, maybe nothing out of all these ideas.
They are not bad, it´s just, we have all had this "oh I want to help", and "this could be usefull" idea's, and we have all started with some lousy whatyouseeiswhatyouget freeware html coder & started making some "sample" site, or something else.
It´s just.... It always stays as an idea.. There are few around as Ace, who ´s got this place running for 602 days today. You really need to think over what you are getting into, before you find out that its just tooo muuuuch to haaandle. |

No. It´s hard enough trying to play BMX files with buzz itself. When you have different VST it already fucks up. Just a version difference or preset difference is enough). Or a version difference in buzz itself will cost you a few problems. There's nothing besides the buzz on your own pc that will easily play your own files. (some exceptions will be there ofcourse)
Anywayz, if you want buzz tracker to be part of the contest, then you'll have to accept mp3. And that would make you want to accept all musicprograms around.
You' re always as good as your last song. |

Well that just leaves me one choice: banning entries in Buzz tracker. The most clear rule is NO MP3s. And I'm not backing from that.

I would be interested in participating in the tracking compo, but I have to be confident that that compo will have a proffesional odour to it. So notify me when you surely know what you`re doing [I`m not saying it offensively, really].
Here are a few tracking compos held by others which you might want to check out and learn from:
Sabotage compo
April Fools compo [which ended in June ]
Trackoff compo |

I wish you guys would stop telling me that I need to make it look professional and help me make it professional by advice. What's so hard about that?

And PS I know I want to do it but now my ISP has problems. |

Make sure you have people who will commit to entering before you even start. yourself not included.
Build a website completely devoted to TMC
Host it somewhere where there are no ads and ESPCECIALLY pop-ups
Spam it on ever known internet music portal.
Keep a running list ( or at least a total number )of entries so people can tell if the compo is active, or just a failed attempt.
Work out more specific rules....
"1. Your songs must be in .xm, .s3m, .mod, .it of .mtm. No mp3s!"
Does this mean I could make a song with Reason, convert it to wav, load it in MPT and hit play? THere should be file size limitations, effect limitations, etc. Think of everything some ideot like me may attempt to do.

I really would use host suggestions. I have no experience building a site from my own and then I need a host. I can't use SmartFTP for uploading.

The best way of learning, in my opinion, is observing. The three links above are the most useful thing you might actualy get.
Pleaing just sounds pathetic.

To find a good, free host today is not as easy at it has been I think.
There are plenty of friendly sceners out there though, who would surely "spare" a few meg´s for a compo site....
