PartySan, I really think you're doing it the wrong way. Do you imagine Novus would've made his compo so well-known if he just made a topic on his favourite community site and shyly asked if anybody was in?
Don't ask people to kindly join your compo so that it doesn't suck, or else they're mean... You have to _make_ people want to join, you have to find a way. Organise, announce, advertise. Do it properly so that people know that you know what you're doing...
And keep in mind not many people stick to IT or XM, so organising such a compo is a bit tricky... it must be interesting, challenging and stuff. It's not a simple thing and surely won't succeed without a nice concept, thorough organisation and wide advertising.
