I've read it, and I highly recommend it to anyone else aswell!
But, I can't say it's inspired me to write music, however it's inspired me to
be a more original and unique person, the book teaches you that
life and freedom isn't to be taken for granted.

Edit: PartySan, if you liked that book, try watching the movie called Equilimbrium,
it's kind of like 1984 "lite" :D

I've read it, and like most 'famous' books, I find it highly overrated...

I did it, and i found it very interesting.

Another similar book is Huxley's Brave new world, written in 1921.
While 1984 is more about personal freedom and freedom of thinking,
BNW is more about (un)equality, (un)individuality and "freedom" of choice
in times to follow. Great thing too.

Cheyenne: nah... this one is even excelent compared with "Ms. Bowary" and
"Crime and punishment"
... read those, whole, uncut versions, and you get my vote for you as a president.

"The 'soul' of the machines has always been a part of our music. Trance always belongs to repetition, and everybody is looking for trance in life... in sex, in the emotional, in pleasure, in anything... so, the machines produce an absolutely perfect trance."

I never read that book. I just hear of it. That's the origin of the phrase: "War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength" and the well-known "Big Brother is watching YOU".
