i got very nice results using a real, tuned vocal as a carrier. (I found the sample on some doru malaia's vocal sample packs, it was a simple one note "haaaa" ) I used it on short vocal hook and it worked great! (just check my song "always belive")
yea i know, its SPAM.
edit: WTF i logged in as rimbi..my bad. (i compose chiptunes as rimbi)
It should been Ping.. Crap. Dont get all messed up with this.

Well, I do have to admit that a vocoder can come up with interesting results.
I recently tried vocoding my own voice with a female pad sound, in realtime. I laughed like mad when I heard myself sounding just like a choir of females
Fortunately, my music is much more interesting than my posts. |

Let's say I have a wav file of vocals.. where the singer is singing some melody containing many notes or pitches. The root note of the melody is G... and I wuold like to somehow convert the melody so that all notes are G. In other words , the melody would dissappear and the vocalist would be singing the entire part all on one note... G.
Any programs that can do this? Any tricks? Maybe with a vocoder?

Antares Autotune would do that. Probably some other plugs too. |
do you know where i can get antares autotune? |

if you can afford it, buy an Antares AVP-1 Vocal Processor. (its real hardware, not a plugin for those who thought that ) It includes a real AutoTune-unit, Mic-Modeller, De-Esser, Gate, Compressor, EQ, etc. and comes in a 1U rack-unit.
Costs about 569 euro. |
