Personally i concider the title to be an integral parts of a piece. To me it is as important as any of the other elements that make up a piece. I'm also very fond of what XnmE said about combining different art forms (having graphics, stories etc as part of the concept), although I haven't done that to much of a degree yet. I guess that's somethint to do in the future then.
What a horrible night to have a curse.

VERY important. It helps the listener understand what you had in mind when the song was being written. It also helps bend the listener's mind into thinking from a specific angle.

Just like a book, a title can change the entire feeling of a track. Extremely important!!!

For me the title is of immense importance (i voted for the first option :) )
This is because when i compose/produce i like to try and visualise the music. So if i come up with a cool name, ill base my production towards that, and so the musical piece will have more solidity and a more substantial identity.

Also i could start a track, get stick midway, and then invent a name for it that helps me complete the track since it gives me a sense of direction.

Lastly i remember getting flamed on one community back in the day, simply because the name i had chosen for one of my tracks wasnt representative of the tune, and some users 'couldnt really see it'. Oh well..

The title of a song is either a reflection of what I was feeling when I made it, or the imagery I want to conjure with the music :)

Titles alos work as a "ID" to your song...

some songs can be easy to remember and some...you dont remember at all!

Often, songs are like children. You spend time and invest energy into it. You watch them grow. Who doesn't name their children?

I think you can relate this to the title you pick as an artist. By labeling yourself, (most likely) you are trying to convey some kind of message including what music can be expected.

I believe the title of a song is extremely important because like many people before me have said, it floats through your mind and really makes you wonder and reflect about what you are going to hear much like the way people inadvertently reflect about what types of music a certain artist will produce based on their artist name.

Plus, if one thinks about all the great artists signed to music companies, I'm sure they'll find that each title has a purpose for its song. Just think about the artists you listen to (especially the ones outside of CTG and other individual music forums).

For me coming up with a title is usually the hardest part of making a song. Sometimes it's very easy though, and sometimes I can't come up with anything at all.
I too, think the title is important so I try to put some thought on it always.

I answered "I name my tunes at random" though.

The title IS integral, because it's the meaning that your song will have, if you don't have a title.. you don't have a purpose to the song in question either.

I've made some pretty dumb tracks over the years, and of course I've named them appropriatly.. like say "Insert Pointless Artsy Title Here" .. oor the almost infamous "The Effects Of Drinking Too Much Tea" but the tracks I've cared deeply about have always had a well thought out title.
