Hey guys ....
Dj Frosto just released his so called "new track" Frech Kiss (2003 Mix)
It is a complete ripp-off from Edzes track Beautiful Dreams
I allready thought he ripped all or most stuff in this track , but now I am more sure then before !
Please compare the tracks , and share your thoughts with me !
I think we must just ban artists like this , but I think it is better to discuss this first .... please don't start talking big stories what happend in the past on other sites ... just gime some opinions abou THIS and what to do ...
I say we ban him !
Owh ... and if you are reading this FROSTO .... there is no need to delete your track , I will simply put it on our own server and place a link here

That track sucks. Original (Edzes - Beautiful dreams) is much
better than your crappy shit.
Suggestion:
Can you put here some rippers list like modarchive.com have |

Yup it's a ripoff allright... But why someone chooses to rip someone else's song? It feels good when you get something good done BY YOURSELF.

I hate rippers and ripping, but I still belive this dude deserves a second shot.
Judging by the current situation he should have learned a pretty valuable lesson already and probably won't do it again.
So I suggest a warning should do for now, but if it happens again, don't hesitate to ban his ass. |

nonono.......
Theres no excuse for ripping.
One thing is maybe to "borrow" a bassline from a track, a few samples (and maybe even track a bit of em like from the original)....
But a track that sounds the same? nonono
(i havnt listend to any of the tracks though, so i dont know how "much" is "ripped")
But if theres a ripp, theres a ban, for sure. It´s childish, and ppl who ripp will never make any good music themself anyway (since then they should have done that instead?), so why have them here then?

Actually there was the Sound Blaist (or what the nick was) guy... he is on the rippers list at Modarchive, they say it was when he was new to the scene, he apologised and he started to make his own tunes.
If it's the only rip, first time of an impatient newbie, he might be given a chance to do the same (with public apology perhaps). Different thing if he's a notorious ripper and we don't know that yet... |

I have really really bad experience of ripping.
A few years ago me waz in a DnB kru called zX-13 & we had this very tallented guy called "pshycic mind" in our kru.
We got alot of notification, mostly becuse of Psy, and hi´s music sounded damn good. I got to learn him @ TIS & for more then a year, i daily talked to him on the net, on IRC, in starchat and by mail. I even started a few CO´s with him (even though no1 was ever finished), and so did many others.
Psy was a ripper.....
I didnt belive it @ first, since he really was a good "friend" of mine, and he gave SO much to the scene. He was for example one of the most active reviewers at TIS at the time....
I belived so strong in psy, and we even "kicked" out a few members of the kru (since they where quiet inactive, & we were not) that had been there before us.
We discussed this over & over, and im quiet ashamed of this today, but at that time... well...
The thought Psy put in me mind will never go away. I hate hate hate rippers, and i will always do so. There is NO excuse for ripping, even if your new to the scene.
When i was new, i made the mistake of putting up me 1:st XM track ever on the net, and the rest that came also.
One of me first tracks i called a remix, even though the only thing i had done to it was adding a new bassdrum rythem, and rearranged a few patterns.
But STILL, i called it a REMIX. I gave credits to the originall author in the info, so nothing could go wrong, or ppl would think i´v done it all by myself. This is not hard to do, it´s not even hard to understand that this is the RIGHT thing to do, even for a "amature".
Theres plenty of excuses for doing a "bad" remix (even if you just change a few things), since remixing tracks is a good way of learning the basics in tracking.
But....
Theres NO excuse for ripping, never ever.

wiseman oh yes i remember this guy...
hehe "made" those great dnb stuff after just like half a year of tracking, but well he also "made" and avesome trance track which seemed to be taken from above&beyond who still have it on their mp3.com page.
well the guy makes quite nice music nowdays so i guess he learned something from it. |
