You can respect them simply because they are who they are. Respect has nothing to do with making music or not.
Szartd makes fucking great music, and did show a lot of effort in music, while many dont repect him. I understand that.
Randor is much more respected, although his music and efforts in the scene are less then szartd's. I also understand that.
Respect has nothing to do with 6/10 ratings. It's about something else

Seriously, I was gonna write some very similar thoughts before but forget about it...
Another thing concerning CTG mixes. What I like most about them - besides that fact that you find music you passed by before - is that you hear the music without looking at the rating and then you can enjoy it a lot more imho  You are not prejudiced b/c of a high or low rating. Go CTG mixes!
And about this mix... Can't say much, good solid mix, awesome tracks that I missed before and the mixing isn't bad at all  Great listening pleasure

Nice tracks and very nice mixing!
Nice beatmixing and cool effects when you introduce new tracks is it "Phaser" you are using on some of the mixingparts(?)
I'm a little ashamed that my track was picked for this mix even if it is in the genre melodic trance because like MiraculuM said my track need a lot more power and nicer soundimage to fit the other tracks.
But anyway I write this to congratulate you to a great work MatthijsB...I like it!
Looking forward to listen to more of you mixes.

I won't say much anymore, because not one viewpoint has convinced me.
Please don't read one line, and jump to conclusions. I hate how most of you tell me what kinda person I am. I also hate it how most of you also tell me that I am like someone else. When I say something like, when ten out of the top 20 most respected people have 6/10 music, you give me a lesson on how people earn respect, rather than simply understanding. If in a typical music community, the top 10 out of 20 most respected people have 6/10 music, and that's the way things are supposed to be, then I don't want to be in a typical community like that. I notice that those 10 out of top 20 people also get their review marks inflated, number of reviews inflated, and way more comments than everyone else. That isn't ok with me, and that's why I don't like it that much. It can be ok with you, if you like a typical generic social structure which sucks, and makes the community less unique.
I just hate the bullshit, I want it to be music with no side order of how nice a person is, how their music genre stands out, or how of a good looking girl they are so lots of guys message her, and post a lot of comments. I hate bullshit like this. Obviously a lot of people think this is ok, because you could be a bullshit person also. And now you are used to a lot of social bullshit around here, and you forget who you are.
I want people to be unique all the time, and I don't want bullshit any of the time. That's impossible here I guess, and an unrealistic idealistic community that could never exist, but oh well. I can find one with less, or just don't participate anymore.
Sorry for the profanity, and I will not directly respond to anyone's post unless it is really intelligent, and not traditional bullshit like "You're a cry baby" or, "This is definetly a not-trance based community, I see lots of non-trance songs yahoo! And I completely do not understands Oceanseeker's point, so I will just write something short to contribute, without any real thought, and then I will go eat supper" If this the case, you can go look in the mirror, and realize that you're worthless.
I like and respect a lot of you, but it would be great to see the absence of bullshit.

What you call bullshit is actually an expression of social contact between musicians. You know most of us are more than music composing machines, we are humans. Interaction between us might reach a forms of bullshit and if it annoys you, decicion made is right. Albeit this raises a question WHAT actually you want people to do in community? There wont be much downloaders nor artists in such a site you described , except you and Mark 
I wont take grounds like ' get real life, this is internet.' I'm exactly same here as real life ( where I spent most of my time) , theres no 'netlife' alter ego for me, there's just me. So bullshit from real life comes here too, and I've seen its pretty much same with most of us. That makes this site so comfortable for me. |

why don't you go and have a closer look at these so called respected artists. of course i respect ppl that are actually great fellows (at least over the net) and if they produce some nice music, i respect that aswell. you've made quite a big misthink here. "genre stands out, good looking girls", i mean what the fuck? you've gotta open up your eyes and take a closer look at these so called respected artists. you really think the people in ctgmusic are that stupid that they respect an artist if his or her music genre stands out? and why the FUCK couldn't someone respect someone if he or she is a great chap? does the fact that these respected people get a lot of comments make you angry? all i can see here is that you're looking for a place with no feelings, only music. a place where there are no human beings, only anonymous people tossing over music and no actual community behind it? go get killed, then you'll find such a place. not planning to change from human into something very different, into something as cold and inhuman like your idea of a perfect music community.
