Absynth costs a lot of money. I'd advise him to go to KvR, download Synth 1 and some banks for it that include paths.

...and atmosphere is also the answer :love:

i think most "all-around" synthesizers works for pads

you just have to use your imagination a bit

Another expensive answer. If you have the patience to make your own VST by dragging and connecting modules, SynthEdit is the answer :D

Well... athmosphere is a ultimate answer to this question. Its rather big tho.

almost all vst(be it polyphonic) can do pads, there are however some that exceeds in this/or are specialised in this.

Two more exotic ones are M42 nebula and MHC Spacesynth that do stuff
in the same category as most of the athmosphere is in due to their trully weird
wiring possibilities :)

There is always Bigthick Rhino too.

Also, most additive and FM synths can do you a wonderfull pads, but are somehow hard to control :)
