I know a little about what he's up to.
He's working on musical project with a fellow musician. I downloaded their stuff and it's definitely not as good as Elwood's old XM music or even his MP3 music. The link is http://www.loommusic.net/
I also posted on their guestbook some praise words on his old work, and got a reply! Even awezoom didn't so don't say he's a jackass, maybe just a private person.
Also, I am sure his MP3 works weren't renoise or something because in the ID3 tag he wrote that during 2000 he 'mastered' MIDI...
lol I think I know too much about this guy well, his music got me into tracking and I learned almost everything from his xm's.
Oh and my favorites are 'Neutral zone' and 'Waverider'.

Never heard Waverider. It's one of his Cakewalk mp3's? Could you give me a link to his mp3 music? |

I'm afraid the LoomMusic project is definitely dead. the last update was april 2004 when they said they were recording vocals.
I think Elwood should have mastered his best tracks, compose a couple of new ones and send them to a major publisher. He was definitely one of the best trackers on history, not only for his composing skills but his traking abilities. Studying his patterns was a huge lesson to me in those years. He used almost any kind of effect available in Fast tracker 2 with such a great knowledge...I still close my eyes when listening to Unknown Phuture. Not even lizardking's or Radix's pieces still sound so great to me nowadays (I mean those age's themes, not latest)
I agree, his latest songs are his less 'highlighted' ones... I write you here the complete list of songs (I made my homeworks):
XM - 15
- Sweet Dreams - 2:55 ( B R I L L I A N T)
- Unknown Phuture - 5:04 ( H U G E )
- Homecoming . 3:14
- Sick on Monday - 4:40
- Experience - 3:00
- Fall from Sky - 3:06
- Feats of Valor - 4:12
- After hours - 3:39
- Inferiority Complex - 3:16
- Into the Shadow - 4:32
- Little Man - 4:08
- Neutral Zone - 5:19
- Shooting Star - 3:29
- One fine Day - 5:01
- Dead Lock (4:19)
MP3 - 16
- The only one left - 3:32
- Waverider - 4:43
- Waverider 2003 Remix - 4:43
- Agony - 5:30
- Beyond the Rainbow - 4:26
- Far away - 5:52
- I can seek - 4:24
- Low horizon - 3:54
- Memorize - 4:46
- On the run - 4:09
- Outcast - 5:56 ( I love this one )
- Past & Present - 3:38
- Stompin little scouts - 6:01
- Sunshine - 3:45
- Take me there - 4:03
- Feed your supermind - 5:17
Loom Projects:

I think I'm not forgetting anything. I just hope so!
Please, check them and try to find all of his pieces to judge him correctly. He was a master for many of us.

good job awezoom! i can add a bit to this. in 1994 scirocco and myself started a group called Night55. we released one music disk called "grandeur", featuring night55 artists + mick rippon and elwood as guests. elwood gave me "deadlock" for this disk, imo one of his best tunes.
cheers

Elwood's tracks still give me the shivers. What a prodigy that guy is! How is it humanly possible to be so good when ur so young??
I was thinking, that prodigies tend to shine really bright for a short period and then dim. His loom project wasn't hot stuff, and he kind of disappeared lately.
So I was wondering, do progidies lose their gift after awhile? or do they get bored with it?
and do we, most ppl, who have to work up their skills over years, do we have a better chance of keeping our abilities, since they're a skill and not a gift?

Hey, you are talking about him as if it is that he died. Isn't there any way that we could find a mail or something to ask him if he really quitted? And if so, we could all send him fan-mails about the fact that we dont want him to quit
It took a while, but : It's a new release! (3536 hits) |
