Why do all new guys guys, (welcome, welcome) have to give every fukking song a 10/10 or a 9/10? I've seen songs that we used to rate with 6/10 or 7/10, now been rated like they are amazing.
Do we want to go inthe same direction as TiS went (well, not the RIP part, but I mean the reviewing --> all songs get 10/10)

I agree that recently there is quite some reviews with ratings which doesnt go along with the standard we have. So please just report every review which you think is not appropriate and moderators will give some brief guideness to the newcomers.

I don't know what's wrong with you. Is this site all about comunism? If we (reviewers) think that a song is worth 10/10 we'll give that song a 10/10 rating. Why the f**k do you want to "give some brief guideness" to the newcomers? If they whould have given each one of you (Analysis, Void Pointer, Slog, acecream) a 10/10 this topic wouldn't even be started.
P.s. I should be expecting my punishment for not agreeing with a moderator right?!

Well, I wasn't. I remember I gave even lower scores. The first song I rated (Storm - The Step Of The Birds), I rated 5/10, but later I changed it to 7/10.

Rifflections: It's not about communism, but new reviewers often don't have the idea on the average quality of the songs on CTG. I can tell - I were the same when I came here and all of my earliest reviews suck.
If new reviewers will be constantly coming and rating the songs with 10, CTG will loose respect from the feedback receivers, who appreciate real criticism more than ultra-good rating with no good reason.
And Ace won't kick those people in their asses, he will probably just send them some advice.

I kinda agree with you , on the other hand some people may get very high expectations if they see a 10 and thus they will be dissapointed if they find out it's just average , and that might scare them away from downloading more from this community.

First of all, you should have just started this topic, and not post that with a song. Second, shitty reviewers is not a very nice thing to say to people who just try to contribute something. I know there are a lot of shitty reviews here, mostly done to get the review count up to promote their own songs, but you could have said that in another way. Third, I think it's just plain stupid to post something like that and then even admit you haven't downloaded the song. Come on, if you're going to do that, at least pick a song in which you are sure the reviews are shitty and the 10 ratings are not according to the standard quality scale of this site.
For me personally, I haven't done a lot of reviews, but this was the first 10 I gave. I don't think I'm overly generous with my ratings, I'd say they are about average. Maybe I have been a bit too enthousiastic, and wrote the review too soon. But I still wouldn't give the song anything lower than a 9.5.
Despite that I do think you have a point. The ratings shouldn't be too high, you should be able to see if something is really special by it's rating. You're probably right about it being newbies too. |

I wasn't. I only have one 10 in my whole life. And it was at CTG.
EDIT: What the heck has communism to do with all this? I despise communism, but I dispise overrating too.
