Based on the audition of a techno track by VP and a trance track by Gerry Cueto, I'd say that the soundtrack of "Lola Rennt" is trance. Yet, I thought that VP's track was trance

Which track?
Fusion Records v2 (2188 hits) is online! |

VP's track I'm talking about is "Monotone-ism".
From Darkness To Light, my newest track.

that song has nothing to do with trance at all to be honest. Monotone-ism is to monotone to be trance...

But is it techno? I'm not a specialist, but I wouldn't think that's techno. And the beat is a house/trance beat, isn't it?

BTW, I think the word you are looking for is "monotony".
Somehow, it also seems very appropriate. |

House is the music of music. I could say the same about house (or progressive house, to be more exact) music as Louigi Verona posted about classical music...
my opinion here is that most progressive house music is complex and deep. to understand it you need much more then one listen. it's hard to open a door to understanding it, but the effort is clearly worth it, because you enter a world of great music that may change your life completely
Music really is a subjective bitch, isn't it?
But back to the topic question: I think one important answer is missing, which is that it is a relieving break from the constant loudness I hear in all other music around me. Sure, loud is great , but sometimes I just want to wind down too and there's no better way to do this than with a good piece of classical music with all those dynamics still intact.

The bottom line in this is that every music deserves a listen.
PPH says a lot of stuff here, but he still hasn't taken my advice - go buy some good trance, man. Try these trance artists: Man with no name, gentecit, total eclipse, mandra gora, the infinity project, black sun, hallucinogen, ayahusca, prana. These are one of the finest artists of trance. |
