Hey ppl.
I'm planning to start writing an introduction to, tutorial and tips guide to tracking.

I know there are allot out there, but another one can't hurt and I want to add some of my own insights.

I want to introduce modplug and maybe a little bit of renoise (since I'm still learning it) as the example program.

My questions to you:
1) Is there really a point in writing such a tutorial?

2) If I finish it, should I post it on the Tutorials section?

My fear is that people either already know how to track, or they're already biased against it :eyes:

Why not making other tutorials, more and more people are getting away from Tracking

Because Tracking is still a valid form of composing music, and allot of people prefer it. Especially with more up to date trackers like Renoise.
Besides, I can't really write a tutorial about something I'm not very good at (i.e midi, piano rolls, etc... ugh I hate those :) )

That's right. I started producing in 2004. May 2004 :) Maybe you're right, though. I will still go ahead and write it. If it's going to end up good I'll post it, if not, Il'l wait and see if I learn more interesting stuff. But then I could say 'oh, I've been tracking for only a year, maybe I should wait and learn some more', and so on and so forth. I'll write it, and then decide. Thanks for the comments.

Personaly i wont find much use from such tutorial since im not tracking anymore but even generaly i never really read specific software related tutorials.

For tracking you can find quite some usefull info here:
