Invite girl artists to CTG?
Yes, that would be great!
Nah, I don't want to compete with girls!
I would have to think about that!

Music creates order out of chaos: for rhythm imposes unanimity upon the divergent, melody imposes continuity upon the disjointed, and harmony imposes compatibility upon the incongruous. --Yehudi Menuhin :

Just make sure, you don't use the same ip, or if so, leave at least 5 mins between you log out and she logs in. Though you have a pic with her, it might be not enough

Yeah, she should come. And you should teach us ;)

Because of the different shape of their brains, they simply cant compose. There are zero relevant classical female composers out there (Mahlers wife tried it, horror!) nor good trackers etc. They can sing well, even in avantgarde bands, as long as they do not compose the stuff.
They can also play the violin, piano etc (even classical). But playing and composing are definitely two pairs of shoes.
The only good female trackers i remember are Lluvia/Bomb from France and Nogsf from Finland.
Ah yes, and there's Yoko Kanno, Japans finest Anime composer (Arjuna) etc. OK:
SHE DEFINITELY IS A MASTRESS!
In total though: forget em

I guess I have to fall for the bait to at the same time be able to defend all great female composers out there. Men and woman are different. For starters, men have for a long time had the domination in power both nationwise and domestic. Using the minority of classical woman composers as an argument for womans lack of skill in the area of musical composition seems groundless. In those days, the mere though of a woman composing music whould have been seen as an uproar against the male authority (historians please correct me if I'm wrong here). Thereby redusing and holding back woman talent.

The only thing that really matters here are that woman historically haven't had the same opportunities in the musical scene as males. It also seems that men like using technology more than woman thus explaining the minority of girls in the computer generated music scene. However, when looking at the big picture, men and woman are equal when it comes to writing and producing soulfilled songs. But everyone may not have the skill to be able to notice that.
Music expresses what cannot be said in words, and which cannot remain silent.

BAN EFTOS HES A DIRYT SEXIST!!!!!

Seriously though, I think that's probably pretty inaccurate.

You say, "There are zero relevant classical female composers out there (Mahlers wife tried it, horror!) nor good trackers etc." then go on to list some :)

What about Matsueda, the female Squaresoft composer. She rocks!

I just agree so much with 1up! I'm 100% sure that womens ability to compose music, is just as good as ours. The reason there aren't many good female trackers around, is that there aren't many female trackers around at all.

If you pick like 10 random artists at http://www.modarchive.com, and listen to their songs, you're not very likley to hear that much enjoyable music. So, if we pick a bunch of female trackers, and listen to their music, we shouldn't expect any different result. That doesn't at all mean they're worse. If they were as many as us, I'm sure there would be as many skilled female artists, as male artists.

(then, how is skilled messured anyways?)

I think eftos makes it sound like they're less skilled, by some laws-of-nature. I couldn't agree less.

But at the other hand... To me it doesn't really matter much how many females are around here at ctg :) I guess it was just my inner feminist who took controll over me for a while there... :girl:
Fortunately, my music is much more interesting than my posts.
