hey every1.
You know there is some strange 2 words " color temperature " (hey artists! or u don't know Photoshop? ;) ).. Does anyone know is there " sound temperature "??
Or how we can produce " warm " or " cold " sound?
Let's look at human feelings: some melody that makes us feel nostalgy or same feelings ...... is it " warm " ?? ... melody makes us feel power or energy, increase blood pressure and adrenaline level .... is it LIVE and positive ?? .. or some evil theme ... can it be " warm " or "cold " ... what is the ideal of temperature ... or it's only magnetic " North " and " South " in domains on your hard drive storing that bits of samples that YOU use?? ... or it's only incredible ways of air that produce sound waves??... what is melody?? that's the main question . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Empty feelings here
Electromagnetical waves give us creativity.

Very interesting topic!

Yeah.. well perhaps ye can write a warm-sounding track or a cold sounding.. but I think that it's very objective.. some people might think your cold song is warm and visa versa.
Like the Spectrum Music compo, where the aim was to track a colour.. everyone has their own opinion about the colour of a certain song.

On the other hand, cold and warm are more "clear" for the ear I guess.
Although I think it's easy to create a cold track with lots of bass.. Just add the right contrast. ;)

Hehe yeah there are only cold or warm but when it comes to colors you have hundred of them ;) , i belive in some way bass is warm, and some a bit plastic sounds are cold, or sounds with lots of high frequenzies.
But when it comes to sad or happy it is very easy to decide.

My 2 cents.... for me warm is soft sounds like tenderly played strings or that kind of. It's easier to figure out what's cold: sharp saw synths are mostly cold even you can bring some softness and warm with filters and eq's.

Hmm, don't know how to figure it out, need to think about ;)

So far, so good.........so what? :p
