I don't see any connection (music related) with hard and warm (or cold and soft)

That's yer pillow, Szardt

Nah, hard and soft is something else. Pianissimo, piano, mezzo piano, mezzo forte, forte, fortissimo.. that's from soft to hard..

I think it maybe hard & soft and cold & warm at one time, e.g. distorted guitar - it's hard but all sounding is warm, or piano.... hmm piano maybe as well cold as warm, piano playing fortissimo with bass notes is warm ... some melody (like X-files theme, if u'll play it on piano) will be cold... main question is what is melody playing on that instrument. D&B sine bass can be at one time warm and cold i think depends on melody... if u'll use soft and warm synth with short notes and a lot of reverberation and hi-pitched notes -- it will sound cold and fear.

i dont think 'temperature' depends solely on bass tbh...more like overall production..

Hehe, it's just a signature.. overall production is very important too but if bass goes cold... the tempereture also goes down.. :cd:

I like to see here your OWN thoughts abt topic..

Question 2 :: how we can produce 'warm' track at all, what tecniques we should use??. . . . does reverb set 'warm' sound of piano at pianissimo??...

I believe most harmonic string chords have a warm sound and most commercial trance lead synths are cold, that's actually how 'they' told me to tell the difference. warmtch depends mostly on what you do with your sound (duh), most of the time analog sounds are warmer compared to digital sounds (which is rapidly changing now with VST plugins etc.). Also a chorus effect most of the time warms up the sound. I can't find any way the really describe a warm sound.
a bit extreme example: orchestra sounds warm, peacefull (and so on...). Most digital pieces if you could take away reverb and most effects which spice up the sound sound rather cold....right?
