well, I like just about every type of music, but emo especially. I don't use a sythesizer, either. real people, real music, raw as a skinless tomato. (not that there is anything wrong with synth) anyone else feel the same? I probably sound like an asshole, but that is how I feel.
screw the government! vote libertarian!

Not really, a lot of folks here record instruments live, even if the entire songs aren't. Look at most the metal musicicans especially. There's nothing "unreal" about techno genres though, they're completely musical too. Look at the genre charts if you want to find other people's music in nonelectronic genres though
Personally, I can't say I like synthesised or "real" instruments better. Some instruments fit a mood or feeling a song should have, doesn't matter whether they are synthesized or not. This is why you find pianos and violins in techno music, and synthesisors in most pop

I dunno.
When ppl heard that my new hardcore punk band will use sound effects to enhance our musical scope, they were all like "u losers wtf "
I just feel that first of all they're being hypocrites, cuz even with "real instruments real people", u still use effects like distortion, reverbration, e.q, delay, compression etc etc etc.
Limiting urself musically just for the sheer pride of it or due to tradition is not a smart thing imo. People like that, I guess, r too inlove with their genres to think beyond that, and I think music is harmed that way.
Synths are no better nor worse than traditional musical instruments. they are not there to replace, but to add. Like u wouldn't expect a violin to replace the roll of the piano. With synth u can do music u coulodn't do before, and I don't see what's wrong with that.
Ofcourse it's understandable if u just don't like it All i'm saying is music is music. the rest are just tools to express it!

I met many ppl having the "this is a computer-song, not real music" syndrome..
and what I always tell 'em is that there's a difference between a music PLAYER and a music COMPOSER.
A man can be both, but there's no real need to play an instrument to be a musician.

Moreover: which is the difference between, say, an electric guitar and a keyboard synthesizer? Or with a classical guitar? They all come from technology... it's just about the ethic...
Hey I'm not meant to be offensive!
[Ps. sorry I had troubles with firefox and it posted it twice!]
