Propellerhead Software announced version 3.0 of Reason. This update focuses on live playing and comes packed with new unique features.
The update includes 3 new devices: the Combinator - a sophisticated device that allows you to build elaborate chains of Reason units -, the MClass Mastering Suite, including eq, stereo imager, compressor and maximiser, all for your mastering needs, within Reason. The third device is a Line Mixer 6:2, which is a combi mixer, primarily for Combinator.
Some more additions are the new Remote technology, the new Browser and a new Soundbank.

Holy shits, now Atlantis can't complain about Reason's lack of EQing tools!
This is great indeed. |

Well this update features everything we were discussion last week... the combinator for controlling multiple devices, an expanded browser for easier selection of patches, easier copying and managing of automation, and of course the new mastering devices.
Just to add, Reason 3 is only in beta testing so we can't buy it yet. |

I'd love to be betatester, but there's 2 issues: my time wich is very limited and this fucking inflammed sciatica nerve!! Cant sit more than 20 mins
Anyway, it seems they're listened users again. I love that design of MClass. Only that hipass filter is still missing..... |

I want the MClass Stereo Imager. Only two bands, but it looks nice.
The whole mastering line look quite decent actually, besides being based on the old analogue-style interface that I personally don't like, and the compressor not being a multi-band one. But good luck to those attempting to master their tracks in the same program they sequence and mix in.

Multiband compressor would be useless limiting since it would always be "4band or 5 band", easier to build up from those tools exist and set as many bands you need. I admit that reason needs better compressor and seems it has now....there's even sidechain |

Hmm, you somewhat lost me there. Or do you mean that you can couple multiple devices together, putting a frequency splitter device before it so that each compressor compresses a certain band? That'd work too if possible, yeah.

Yeah, using BV 512's to set bands and chaining compressors after them makes it multiband and you can set as many you want, up to 32 bands Way more flexible than one multiband compressor. |
