| I have a totally different problem, I rent the basement of a house and when I play loud music, you can barely hear it from right outside my house, but yet the manager comes down and complains saying that people are sleeping. The next day, they have a huge karoake party and it was so loud the neighbors complained, I confronted them and all they said was "our house, were allowed to be as loud as we want" that doesnt seem fair. |

I have phones for nite use . And imo it's better to make music with phones so you hear the panning better

You think it's better? Lucky you! My ears get all warm and fluffed after a while using headphones. OK, my headphones aren't DA BOMB but still. Did I mention that my headphones are ill constructed? The thingy you have over your head to stabilize the whole thing is way to long, so, even at the smallest setting, the headphones are using the upper part of my ears for support. Yes, that hurts. It hurts _badly_ after a while.
I guess I'm in for a whining streak here. |

I currently live in a flatshare with 3 other people, who really arn't my type of people, their studying to become Doctors and another is studying history of modern art and stuff, then theres me the music production student
Im often told to "turn it down" so i cut the bass off so that i can hardly hear it, my landlord lives right next door, and his living room wall is also one of my bedroom walls, yet i get no complaintes off him.
I think im looked down on my one of my house mates, she has the room next to me, just as shes becoming a Dr. she thinks she owns the house, i tell you if i was a girl i'd of put her to the floor ages ago
I do use headphones, but you know when your working on a track and you think "gee i would what this will sound like really loud through my speakers..?" thats when my flatmate starts to complain.. *cough*bitch*cough*
Anyhow, in the summer i'll hopfully be moving in with my gf or another one of my clubberproduction friends - and i'll build a proper studio, with sound proofing

maybe is well all contribute a small amount of money, say £1,000,000 each we could buy our own little island somewhere and we could all make music are loud as we want.
CTG Suggestion: locate and buy an island

No, but this reminds me of a story.....
once I lived in an apartment, and the guy below me had this loose ceiling fan that would swing back and forth as it ran, making a pecking sound " peck ... peck... peck" Anyway I had just got my new TV and surround system and really was into the whole enjoying the immersing in sound thing.
whaterver
anyway, this damn pecking noise drove me insane. I mentioned it to him once, but he never fixed it. So I rigged up a microphone on the floor, right above the place where the fan was, and then turned my speakers on full blast, with as much bass as possible, and then laid all the speakers face down on the floor so it would blast the sound back at him.
After a while I noticed he turned the fan off. And then back on for a few seconds, as like he was thinking "WTF!?!?" He turned it off, back on, and finally turned it off for good. After that he must have fixed the damned thing cause I never heard it again.
