And so is Buzz. Before Buzz there were modular systems, and there were trackers.

Of course it is. Looks may not be the most important thing in the world, but if I have the choice: a beautiful girlfriend that has other features that are the same as other girl's features, I would go for the beautiful one. Do you think it's strange? I don't.

Jeskola stopped developing Buzz and makes it difficult for passionates to develop it.

Buzz is not developed. I just even went to buzzmachines.com to check. Newest version - 1.2. When I used Buzz 3 years ago it was version 1.2. For 3 years the software was not updated. Buzz is dead.

nah. I also said that the results of the software need to be good. Its not that somekind of software is holy or something. As the results are good, and they are, then I dont see a reason to move on to something else, which is basically(pretty much exactly) the same as what I'm using right now. of course, it's your legal right to move on to something else as you feel like it. I only suggest to not try psycle, but to try the first and original thinkers --> buzz.
You dont like trance remixes of classics do you? Well, this is kinda the same.

I don't like trance and I don't like remixes, no matter if it's a remix of classic or not.
But it's not the same, because we are talking here about tools, not the creations of these tools, not about the art. Every software out there rips off ideas from other programs, it's as normal as the fact that every day sun shines. Skale tracker is simply a clone of FT2, Cheesetracker is a clone of IT and Buzzle... is a clone of Buzz! Just like Psycle.
And you know ahy all the mentioned software was made? Because the other projects died. IT was not developed anymore, so Reduz made Cheesetracker. FT2 was not developed anymore and didn't work with new platforms, so Baktery made Skale. Buzz was not supported anymore by Jeskola, they didn't want to reveal the internal oprgans of the programs so two project were started - one Psycle - a clone with it's own standards and Buzzle - a clone using buzz library (for which the developers have to pay, which slowed the developement quite a lot).
What's wrong with that?

Since we're already completely offtopic  I may as well ask: is this Cheesetracker any good? I've seen screenshots and specs and it looks like everything I wanted ModPlug to be. A pity it's only for Linux, I've had no luck installing Gentoo from LiveCD...

There's a Cheesetracker port for Windows available somwehre... Try google.
Gentoo is a distro for totally crazy maniacs, the installation is really difficult and mainataining the system takes a lot of time due to the philosophy of this distro (and yes, I have Gentoo  ), it's certainly not a distribution for normal users. Try Madrake or SuSE. I also heard Ubuntu is good, though it's not as pretty as the two others.
I think Cheesetracker is a good one as an IT clone, though it still lacks the screen that shows an overview during playing.
