My computer has been unstable for some time now. I believe the problems started after installing SP2 for Windows, not sure though. The problems I have to face are for example:
* Copying files and saving wav-files make the computer reboot
* Random errors in Cubase
* Can't run FireFox at all. It's installed and so, but the program won't run.
I'm scared of reinstalling Windows but I guess I'm out of options for this one. Last time I installed Windows it was a version =/ from the old one so everything installed was whiped. That would take weeks to restore my current system if I want to be able to use old Cubase project songs, which I very much do...
What to do?
(Yeah, I've run Adaware/Pestpatrol/AVG Antivirus but it hasn't helped.)
BTW, in safe mode everything works, only, then I can't use Cubase. Lol...

it's crappy you have to reinstall in the first place. de best windows os according to me is W2k. i have experienced relatively few problems with it. XP is a nightmare for me.
viruses, crashes, unexpected and strange problems. not to mention all these popupmessages that tells me "you don't got this, you don't got that, you should install this ect".
it's funny, my mother has XP on her computer and XP says "you don't have a virus protection software" but we DO have F-Secure antivirus. and you keep getting that message every minute too. luckely i found a way to remove that nag (wich took a while to find)
i say, poor people who are not used to computers and gets XP installed on their computers.
sorry offtopic

SP2 SUCKS!!! And for any kind of creative work it sucks even more, as it increases the system requirements twice, which means the system gets less efficient.
Let's hurray our lovely world-wide monopoly.
