Here is a list over pages that host you with 50mb free server space where you can simply upload files. Like songs or anything. Some of the sites have different limits of the size of things you can upload. havnet tested any of them yet so i dont know how big files you can upload. cheers....

Install the right software and off you go! Ofcourse you need a ridicilous huge upload speed to have a proper server, but it's nice for previews or hosting sites

serious apps only, they check them manually... after being accepted they allow mp3 and give 100megs of space for free... no ads or other shit... 100% & cool

Matthew Nite (Matthijs Breijer) - Improved a shitload, made some really nice songs in other genres and his heavilly desrving of it, almost got signed, and made hits. Huge contributor and popular. |

Imagine 10 people want to download an mp3 on your server at their normal speed (let's say about 400 kb/s), then you would need 10x400kb/s= 4mb/s = 24mbit/s connection

I doubt I wuold get that much traffic at once, but you never know.
The main purpose I want this is for a website I want to open this year for my hometown. A place kind of like deviantART but for people in my home county, where amateur photographers can post their work etc.
What the problem is... it would no doubt be filled with a lot of pictures and I would never be able to afford to pay for the space... and I would like the site to be free. So it would be easier to stick in an extra 120GB hard drive every couple of years or something.
I dont think the traffic would be excessive if I kept the members to only people in my county. |

Nice list I just always wonder why we've never heard of those hosting services if they really offer so much... Let us know how your testing goes Slog And please change your artist picture back to the one before... it was much more sophisticated
