I agree. Allot of people believe that circumstances could be totally controlled, and it might be the case for most people in western countries who complain that their lives are out of their control ("I wish I didn't have to work on weekends" hehe). But allot of people have partial or no control at all over their lives. children living with abusing parents. adults who are scapegoated by the system. etc.

I'm not sure if I got you right. Dealing with practical and psychological problems is one thing, having control over one's life and mental states is another. Sometimes it is just hard, especially if you are in depression or really nasty situations like Vegaro mentioned.
Talking about problems can be helpful by the way, preferably with friends over a beer rather than on a forum , but if it's full of people who are willing to try to say something helpful - why not.
Vegaro: I generally agree with you, though I want to add Western Europe only makes it easier when it comes to material issues, but as we know, money's not enough to lead a really happy life. Why are there many suicides in Denmark (as I read somewhere)? And also, you don't need to be wealthy to feel happy. I'm happy.
