I'm using MusicLab RealGuitar.

Price is 150€, and for me this is the best guitar plugin ever. Wonderful to use with IK Multimedia Ampltiube.

You can listen to some of its capabilities in my latest songs, such as "Per un attimo che non passerà" and "Rationally Irrational" on my music page.

Mrsix, learning to play guitar is indeed a nice thing, but it's not something everybody has to do and can and wants to do. It's not like you get a guitar for your pocket money, spend an evening or two and bang, you have a guitar for your songs. :)
:)

I've been in the process of making an acoustic guitar refill for a while.... but really got a good start on it a few weeks ago....

one of my friends who plays guitar came over, and we sampled single guitar picks, harmonics, fret noises, and every major and minor chord in a "fast strum".

Now we just have to sample all the billion other chords... as well as "slow strum" versions of each... and then put it all together.

However we are considering starting over, since there was quite a bit of noise in the recordings. I took it all with CEP, but not completely satisfied.

Anyway, the refill will probably be very huge, and my friend doesn't want to give it away... so we will make a full version for sale, and a lite version for free.

But will probably be another couple of months.

Yeah, you're prolly right, but the way you put it, it was supposed to be an alternative for finding guitar samples and using them in a tracker, for one or two songs. :) Totally different things ;)

As for guitars, SampleTank had a nice clean guitar, SuperQuartet has some nice guitars, you might try to look on HammerSound, I found a nice acoustic guitar soundfont there some time ago. Or was it a reason refill.. damn don't remember, sorry. Or you can ask mrsix or Samppa to play for you ;)
:)

Steinbergs Virtual Guitarist (VSTI) is quite nice for the beginning. But it getīs boring after a while. I can recommend VCP from Ueberschall (VSTI). But itīs also very limited.
Hmm.. An electric guitar mustnīt be expensive. And even if you cant play, you can get some working results with the right VST effects like Amplitube or Guitar Rig.
And playing some single notes or powerchords is not very difficult ;)
Itīs going to be a very big hit!

Yep, guitars aren't that expensive. For 100 euros you can get a guitar that does it's work fairly well. And with Amplitube you don't need any multi-effects.
But if you want to do something a bit more complex stuff with guitar, I'd suggest not to buy a one, if you don't really want to start playing "seriously".
