people can handle communism but thats another topic..
Communism has nothing to do with this... but i like the way people have to review in order to rate.. otherwise its being lazy.. a number means nothing.. someones feedback and critisism to me means everything |

Rating is mostly for charts system, without that he wouldn't work. Charts are for best rated songs/artists, and it mostly happens, that really one of the bests are on the top, so everything work properly .

Ok, not sure who said what but I'll try to make my opinion more clear.
My point is that when people come here to find good music, they will most likely start with the charts. The charts are based on how much the song is downloaded and the reviews. The number of downloads will not reflect the quality (i.e. popularity) of a song as I am sure most of you can agree. On the other hands, basing a chart on reviews solely doesn't work, as most songs here only have one or two reviews. If people who downloaded a song were able to give a score without having to over-analyze a song (which should still be the preferred way of reviewing), "wrong" grades will matter much less. I'm sure ip-logging is possible to calm down the paranoid crowd. Anyway, the more opinions that are accounted for the better the charts will reflect the quality of the music.
On the other hand, if the charts reflected what people on average liked instead of what they downloaded and what 2-3 people liked, this would mean the best and the most bland music would dominate instead of the best and the most downloaded. |
