Well, each game is cool, hard to see what's best. Starcraft and other Blizzard stuff r cool in multiplayer as you understand - a lot of fun playing against living opponents, not computer where you can't even do any special strategies.
Quake 3 - superb fun!
Demise - too many reasons. One of the greatest multiplayer games, I think. One of the reasons for that is the absence of saves which makes it challenging and realistic. And also hundreds of spells, monsters, items and stuff.

Cube - a free fpp shooter. Ultra-fast, damn hard and incredibly dynamic.
Q3A - this one's a classic
Q2 - actually I like Quake 2 more than the 3rd, but most of my friends play Arena
Tibia - a very nice free MMORPG, though I don't play it anymore due to the fact the servers are overloaded all the time

HaH Soldat!! Another good came is continuum. Dunno if any of you've heard of that. Its a little multiplayer game witch is sort of like that windows game..uhh....i forgot witch game but its like that

I like Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory too, because it's free. I don't play it much though, I don't play anything much anyway.

My all time favorite multiplayer game - Soldiers Of Fortune 1.
That Soldat was awesome played it some times ago
