Yeah, digital stuff can also generate frequencies bellow 20hz. The limits is usually caused by the speakers - and you use those with both digital and analog gear..
And samplerates only show their ugly faces in digital music.
So there's the limitation. |
Well, if the maximum possible frequency is above what the ear can hear, it shouldn't really matter at all. Of course it results in aliasing if a harmonic is above half the samplerate, but most softsynths has some nice algorithm taking care of removing that.
Fortunately, my music is much more interesting than my posts. |

Hmmm.. than I guess I was informed incorrectly ..
I've always been told that digital sound has a limited frequency range
and analog sound has not. Hence studio's found digitalism revolting at first.
Oh well, we learn everyday

the resolution of the digital media limits how high the frequencies can go.
because the digital waveform is created in steps, like a stair.
and if we reduce the resolution the waveform can't produce shorter frequencies (eg the higher freqs).
something like that

Sooo maybe we should think about "music for the deafs"?
|
actually, there were some parties for deafs in my city - they just played tracks with an enormous amount of bass, so they could "feel" the sound. |
Hmm I hope those party's are ONLY for the non hearing peeps
Or if they want to have more regualers at those parties they will alow everybody in, getting more local deaf people (I mean inmage the loud noise kicking ) |
those weren't regular parties. and by the way: low frequency don't damage your hearing that badly. it's the high frequencies which are the evil!
oh yeah, and i do think that trance has bass, but that might just be me. |

If the person telling you that was talking about filters, it makes more sense. |

Of course it's part of a song. I think "Bass" it's what it lends rhythm. |

i meant a real bass like fender
|
A bass sound is just that - a bass sound. I suppose you could use a clean electric fender bass sample. Most would agree that this doesn't really 'fit' in trance.
But what do I know...I've never made a trance tune in my life.
