On account of the now closed topic regarding a liner which Delux found to be inappropriate, I got the message from the admins, that freedom of speech isn't limited, yet there are rules regarding things that are objectionable in nature,
to me, this sets a dual rule, since what is objectionable to others,
might not even make me flinch.
For instance, if I say that "I find the name Acecream an insult to my own highly personal religion" to any member of the staff, should I expect the admin staff to remove that artist or force him to change his name? What constitutes objectionable content? do we have a vote or are we subject to the morals, ethics and personal opinions of the admin staff?
Think about this people...

i find it interesting, that the only thing I've read here that I found to be inappropriate (beside certain peoples need to explain things they have no clue about) was from the last thread on the "tsunami cd":
Yes... the time for the final purification has come, and the Armageddon is drawing near.
The results of the Tsunami Asia CD Compo are out!
I know Delux most likely tried to be funny about the resluts, but talking about purification in a context where hundreds of thousands of people just recently died just isn't. |

You can say anything you like here on the forums, as long as it fits the Forum rules. Topics violating the rules get moderated, as simple as that. It's not a matter of freedom of speech, it's common sense.

| Anyway, the reason I laughed was becaus he commented Delux' statement. He misinterpitated it. He ment purification of the fucking track list. And the 'armageddon' thing was probably becaus after much of this and that we are finaly here. Is it really that hard to understand that? |

A topic gets closed over one night's sleep.. thank gawd for people like John here
It's a tough discussion for it seems that people are EASILY offended. And I REALLY MEAN EASILY .. What the fark would Delux care about a gawddamn news-flash on some guy's artist page? Apparently a lot, as he found it reason enough to waste my time by making me change it into something less to-the-point but without a doubt also in the same context.
One could ask: who the hell are you to tell me what not to write?
One could also ask: who the hell are you to just shout wotever pops up in your brain.
For that IS what that was.. a rather cynical (YES I AM A VERY CYNICAL AND SARCASTIC PRICK WHO ENJOYS RUBBING TRUTH IN YOUR FACE) shout-out to wrongdoings in our world. However, I guess that despite the obvious hint this was misunderstood and thought of as offensive, wrong and wotnots. I can't help but think: who the fark are you to comment me, you stupid bloated sack of protoplasm but hey .. this is an issue of FREEDOM OF SPEECH .. so if Delux has the right to call me and my words stupid, why don't I have the right to say this world is disturbing, though in a deformed way ? For I insist Delux HAS the right to call me that and disagree with the context of my words.
But yeah .. where can we draw a line .. ?
On a site that is one big huge immense opinion-based community, what can one say and what not .. ? Or rather, what words can one use to express that opinion ?
Well, I don't know..
Wot I DO know is that my "stupid" and "offending" lines and statements are sitting all over the globe .. I write proza and poetry which often contain such harsh CYNICAL AND SARCASTIC lines, yet nobody ever found it offensive.. nope..
Though I don't wish to be a person full of hate-talking hysteria or demented statements, I DO wish to express something, a message, be it positive or negative ..
These are often accompanied by extremes as they are useful tools to set either an
example of wrongdoings or work as a contrast with your human emotions.
So in a way .. the line even worked .. hmmm.. interestink..
Anyway! I guess the main point for this gloomy thursday would be:
THINK BEFORE YOU TALK
LOOK BEFORE YOU SEE
HEAR BEFORE YOU LISTEN
(AND GET YOUR STEEEENKIN EYES OFF MY WORK IF IT HURTS THY POOR FEELINGS)
If everybody would post and reply amongst those lines, this place would be a lot prettier.
"Life is a play and you a terrible actor."

You're soo... eh.. ok..
Freedom of speech? I thought this community care about itself. You can write your rights, your posts, sentences, poems etc whererver you want, but you must obey some rules. Without that there would be alot of shit. Try to understand it...

No, it's not hard to understand. Please re-read the last sentence of my post, you'll realize I understood what he meant but I found it disturbing because of the context. If you don't understand what I mean, send me a private message and perhaps I can explain using some less complicated words.
It's a pity they removed your other posts before I got a chance to read them. I have a feeling I would have been amused. |
