I got to know myself better by exploiting my soul through music.
The rest is a shiny bonus.

As for me... Everybody (Even family) until very recently has said that my productions suck, just recently I've been getting some respect with slowely improving skills (Mainly for live mixing for bands though, which I guess locally I've gotten a pretty good reputation for) Still though... Not as little as could be

Ok.. but there's one thing i dont understand.. You've been here for years downloading and reviewing tons of songsc.. giving helpfull tips to other artist, including me.. but yet your music kinda sucks? It's not that you don't know anything about music, so how come??
ps.: i've been waiting for that new release of yours.. posted a 'work in process' a while ago remember?

Actually I've been here for less than a year And I dunno, I just have a shortage of good ideas... What I was trying to get across is that I'm much better at mixing down music than actually authoring it

I dont think that'll ever get finished, the next thing that's likely going to be heard from me are some vocals I'm doing for a tune by N.D. I'll record them as soon as I get my comptuer working again

Let me just put it this way.
I look down to miliseconds of sound to edit and master. I master for a week, and I test in 20 different acoustic spaces and monitor systems
NOW thats attention.
Check out me music!

I guess the real difference is...
I want my stuff heard, I'll play it for whoever. Hell I played for the 'cable guy', he liked so, I burned him disk. If and when I get the chance a play'em aloud anywhere and anytime. I have enough confidence in what I do that I don't really care if you like it or not. I know some will and some won't appreciate my songs. I will continue to do what I do. And also I have had enough feedback to know 'not everyone is going to like it'. So really, my feelings are never hurt if someone doesn't like what I do. However, if you 'rip' on my tracks just for the hell of it, and have no good and honest basis for your feedback, I will defend what I do and tell you 'you are full of crap!'. 'You obviously don't know what the hell your talking about'. I have enough confidence that I know I don't suck. You either like or not, real simple. But I don't suck. It may sound a bit arrogant, but I think we all should have pride in what we do. As many musicians that are out there, published, mainstream or otherwise, I've heard better on the internet.
Go ahead, the next post will be..
But you do suck!

I certainly admire confidence in any musician-Shows that person is serious about what they do. And being able to take contructive critisism and discerm between weather someone is genuine about what they are talking about or if there talking crap.
A good frame of mind for any musician would be "if you hate it-and you give me valid reasons then fine-ill make something better and take in what you said".
I think its key to success. And I think its what a majority of genuine producers are like.
Arrogance is better than ignorance after all.

Well said Chokai.
Just don't confuse my 'self-confidence' with arrogance.
