well, strange. For me, gitars and piano's are the same kind of sounds, capable of doing pretty much identical things. (unless you are going to play chords though)
I mean, if I've got a gitar and I know how to use it, then I dont see a reason why I would have to look all over the place to find a proper piano player... It's just too mcuh work for such a minor detail.

IMO, perfectionism sucks. It costs a shitload of time, and besides you, no-one else is going to notice that you've used a male while you wanted to use a female instead. The only thing they'll notice is that the male sings crappy or beautifull.

Of course, you only make music for yourself, and if others like it then that's just an add-on right? Well, I make music for myself indeed, but I still make music for myself when I dont do it 100% as I wanted it to do. I mean, you've got to work with the equipement avaidible. I would also like to have a leadsinger and a jazz-sax in my trance tune.. or gophers strings in the break, but if you can't have it that way, use the same idea's in a different way.

Anywayz, that really works for me atleast.

It took a while, but : It's a new release! (3501 hits)

You might also be able to get some reasonable results using OrangeVocoder --> http://products.prosoniq.com/cgi-bin/register?service=showdetail&refno=46

Having read the post by Analysis, I can say I also thing "converting" male voice to female makes little sense. What I personally think: if you want female singing, find a girl that'll sing for you. If you can't, use your own male singing instead. Heck, you're a man, sing like a man!

I don't know how today's technologies cope with that, but I bet the result will not be worth all the effort and all the topic on the whole. If it's not natural, it's weird. It can work only if you just want a little novelty, experiment or originality, not really a "regular" female singing. I think. :)

Anyone know a good 'line' or trick to get a (random) girl to come with you to sing for you? :eyebrows:

Let me know, i might want to use that trick myself.

Why would you want to have a random girl as your vocallist?:)

Well, Just compliment her voice, and tell her that she would really contribute in giving your songs depth and characteristics. Never fails telling her that you think that the tune is going to be the next huge thing since paper cups :)
Psst, have you heard about it? (782 hits)

Well, personally I could never agree with that. But when I compose, only 50% of my music is the notes, chords and rhythm. The other 50% is the sounds itself, which also plays an important part of expressing myself. I often work a lot with programming synths to get exactly the sound I want.

I know a lot of people think music is all about notes 'n chords, and the sound itself doesn't matter that much. But it doesn't work that way here: The effects I use, and the instruments I chose, is half my song. I could never compromise with that.
Fortunately, my music is much more interesting than my posts.

well, I would say that 80% of the music is the sounds, instead of the chords. My point is that the diference between a gitar and a piano is too small to make such a huge effort about.

(with the idea that you can play one your own, but you want the other sound)
