Your approach to music described above seems to be: I have a song, now it need a sound that will reflect it well. I think in my case, because in no way I can speak for Analysis, it can be the same way (not THAT strictly), or: I have a sound; what can I do with it.

Okey... now here comes my odd statement that may seem very wrong together with what I said earlier. I never have the song ready in my head before I create it. Actually, I'm the kind of person who prefer to use the little equipment I have and create a song with that. However, if I run into a case when I need a specific thing, a dirty upright piano, or female vocals, and if I can't have that, I cancel the production instead of compromising with what I want.

But usually I'm pretty good at adapting myself to the capabilities of my software and creating a song with what I have, without even having to compromise. At those moments I have a feeling I want to express, and yes, many instruments could work to express about the same thing.

But I often sort sounds into harmonic rich, and sinus like sounds, and they can never replace each other for me. That's why I'd not use male vocals in any tune I create, by the same reason I don't use harmonic rich pads. I'm a sine person ;)
Fortunately, my music is much more interesting than my posts.

Hehe, so you would starve for three days if you were that sculptor of mine  This is understandable of course. In those cases, I'd sacrifice my lunch too. :)

If i'd sacrifise my songs when I want something in it that I can't make.. then i'll never finish anything. I always want good vocals. I never have them.

I'm glad I dont follow your way of composing here niffler :P
