Hey partysan,
Why not make me a sample pack for barwars one of the weeks?
You know it makes sense!

I think they are from samplenet, right?

no, www.sonicftp.com

Hmm...I bet they took those walker congas from samplenet. Or the guys from samplenet took them from sonicftp. They seem to be the same.

I've always wondered - when in a mod file comment a person says - all samples by me. What does he mean? He generated them himself? By making noises with his mouth? If he took them from a hardware synth then he didn't make them, he just converted them. If he made them in a soft synth, they wouldn't have sounded so good.
My new release Sisters Grow Up (718 hits)
Sunset Memories (459 hits)
Satellite (549 hits) launched! |

erm, are you also one of those who thinks that "softsynths sounds like crap"? They can definitely sound just as good as hardware.
Besides, if the guy actually sampled it from a hardware synth, he could also have created the presets he sampled.
Fortunately, my music is much more interesting than my posts. |

He could also have recorded his or his friends' instruments.
But well, if I record samples from a synth, I can say I made the samples - meaning I don't have to give any credit to any other tracker - by sampling from the synth. That's how I see it.

I'd say that is true if 1: you didn't sample someone else's preset 2: you didn't sample a rompler

But if I sample a Fender guitar - who created the sample, me or Fender? If a rompler is treated like an instrument, then sampling it means creating _your_ samples.
I'm not going into lawful regulations, because I have no clue about them, I'm just wondering if one can use the word "my" samples then and keep inner moral peace. But anyway, from what I've seen, people sometimes credited Korgs, Rolands etc. in song infos.

But many people say: "Sample from my KORG triton" or whatever. I mean, its not their sound, but since they went to the trouble to sample it and loop it, probably set loops points, equed it, and edited its sound in general, that they have some part in the sample as well
