I'm sure there was a topic once dedicated to what the hardest part of producing was for you, though I can't seem to find it. Anyway, following on from that, I thought I'd post a topic about what your favourite part of the production process is.
For me, it's mixing. Everything from analysing tracks and finding out how to EQ them to make them fit better as a whole, to using compressors, stereo enhancers, and of course more creative effects such as reverb and delay. It's as much an artistic as well as a technical process, and I think I actually like it better than mastering, despite the fact that it takes a lot more work and experience to get right.
Anyway, post your comments.
EDIT: Maybe this fits better under Chat?

Actually the part after the whole production process is the best imo... Getting heard.
otherwise it's composing for sure, making some cool sounds and melodies is just the best thing there is.

My favourite part is at the point when you're all done with setup and patch building, and have a working sound. Then it's just writing melodies down and see everything fall in to place. Before and after is mostly a mess of tweaking and mixing... not nearly as much fun in my opinion. |
