I was wondering... why do you think it is that there's no instrumental music in today's charts? Is it not exciting enough? I mean it's weird when for example trance tracks are cut in half and fixed up with meaningless vocals just to fit the taste of the top 100 crowd... But it's not just trance. There is so much great instrumental music, and not that I really mind but why do you think it's not as appreciated by the crowd as vocal music?

Strange, back then when I started tracking I thought that vocal songs are the best things that one can make Later I didn`t really care for them but if you check my songs you won`t find a single one without vocals/spoken lines
But these topchart things are sometimes hard to endure for me so I don`t have a clue why are they so popular.

I remember a couple of ones in the mid 90's, Robert Miles - Children for instance. But today? No idea why... The pop music gets cheaper and cheaper however.
Not so funny signature. |

It also depends on which charts...
Personally I see not much difference between a vocal track and an instrumental: vocal is a nice 'instrument', with an added value, as it can have more feelings with nice lyrics.

Yeah, that track is one of a few exceptions Hmm, I guess today people need a face or something to connect with the music. Someone who stands in the front holding the microphone doing some wicked dancing or something... Maybe it's hard to be in the top 100 when the artists doesn't really show himself

It's impossible without a singer (male/female) also ever wondered why there are no old ppl, or fat ppl in the charts?
What's important is: 30% music; 0% lyrics(as long as the voice isnt false); 70% cool person
It's more about the coolness of the person singing/dancing. |

what you're talkin' 'bout is show business, not music. I hate to be dull or something, but show business sucks, because in show business music suddenly becomes just a facility to get popular and make money. I like music for itself, not the cool person. But of course, this is the case in modern pop culture, as Kcirr3d said, cool person.

Let's all take dancing lessons and upload mpg's (musicvideoclips) instead of mp3's.
The coolest person or presentation get high rankings.
