I happen to agree very much with Minor Chill's review actually, to be honest. Sure, the rating is on the low side, but he brings forward very constructive arguments.
I really think you're overreacting here, and just need to accept different people's views on your music, even if it's not what you were expecting. Void Pointer already mentioned that Modplug reviewers have lower standards, which, from the looks of the reviews written there, I can agree with. A lot of us are moving into the big world here, becoming more professional and setting higher standards. I really think you should accept people's opinions, and don't let it get to you too much and just continue to do what you love doing. 
Actually, after reading Espen S's third reply about CTG reviews being overrated, maybe it's just me, and a few others with the high standards? Goes to show I really don't look at the ratings too much when downloading a song anyway.
I say, upload another song, accept people's opinions and "that it not matters how good you think your music is, but how good other people think your music is", as you somewhat put it. Maybe even post a comment on the track in question asking for some more feedback, as eventually someone is bound to come along and give you a higher rating, if that'll please you.

There's a big difference between a bad review and a review with a low rating. Minor Chill's review on Step Forward is a bad review, while his review on When the Rain Falls is just a review with a low rating - not necessarily bad. Seems like he actually tried to explain what he thought about the tune, but more reviews is needed in order to see a clear picture of the song. It's all a matter of taste. However the review on Step Forward should be deleted immediately, looks more like a comment to me.

I moved to CTG, and the same happened to me. I got low ratings, but consructive critism aswell. You can't learn from only positive feedback, you won't notice if you are doing something wrong.
And sorry to sound so rude, but I think you are not very pursuying if you leave after a few "bad" reviews. If you'd just stay longer you would've build up a reputation. That equals more downloads/reviews (and that's the only thing you seem to be aiming for, popularity right?).
Well, I can't force you to stay. If you don't like it here and you want to leave I can only say bye.

lol since i've been here i noticed all sites have their own standards.. My music here is generally worth an 8.. but if i move it to another site it's lower or higher.. says nothing about your music.. it's the people on the site.
I know what elements on ctg will give you a standard 10 on ctg but are not apreciated at modplug, and what elements will give you a 5 on ctg but will bring you succes/fame in a club..
Dont think of this site, or any site as the real world. cuz still if you receive fairly high ratings.. record companies problably will laugh in your face if you send the songs as demo's. It's all a game of knowing what ppl want to hear.

I have a recording of Afghanistan folk music and it sucks . I sometimes play it really loud to scare off my neighbours and I always have a good laugh. For Afghan people it's normal music like Britney for us or whatever. It's a bit similar on sites - same music will be treated differently on different sites and even will be treated differently by various people on one site.

But he thinks it's worth a 3.5 rating. I would probably happen to rate it a 4.5 or 5.0, while someone else might rate it a 7.0. It's only a subjective number of how the reviewer would score the track and rank it against other music.
I can see where receiving a below average score would put most people off from downloading it though, but maybe the track simply isn't worth a high rating in the eyes of most people, in which case it's only fair that it doesn't have a higher rating as it would be fooling people into believing it was a really great track, whereas I think it's really more average. As I said, just include a comment asking people to give it a second chance, as I'm sure someone will.
Don't get me wrong, I've heard other - and much better - work from you, but this just didn't cut it for me. No point rating it higher if it isn't worth the higher rating.

Lpchip: hey look at me? i'm one of the most lowrated artists in ctg not at all my songs but many, i've got many bad reviews and many good so look more at the critics and not only rating. don't leave, ratings makes not ur songs better its only the tips u got and skills u have  u have indeed right about mpc, but mpc and ctg is 2 diffrent places.

Ive just read the review in question (the 3.5 rated one), and that is a bloody good review.. he tells you exactly why he doesnt like the track, and then even told you what he thinks needs changing and how you could better improve yourself..
For god's sake, swallow your pride and take the VERY constructive critisism.. CTG Music is a place to express yourself, not to get big and glorious... for godsake, its a free webpage, not a global conglomerate..
