I don't think a sample of your tracks in full length and quality is a good idea.
If you have that somewhere, I can easily find it and take all your tracks before they are signed. Instead, on that supporting web page, I would only put a few tracks in less quality and shorter length.
Then link the full mp3s in the email. |
that's probably why you're not signed
no hard feelings, I prefer to trust the guys I email with.

Well, I'll fully scan your site tonight and try to snag all your full mp3s if you want. |

My band is going to record a demo soon, and I didn't think about making a website for the demo, thanks for the idea!

And I am not signed for other reasons.
I get tons of replies, and good feedback.
People recognize that I have potential, but right now, I have some major problems I have to deal with. And unfortunetly, its in the music. I also could market myself better, I agree with that.
Frankly, I don't care about getting signed because I presented myself well, I wanna get good enough so I present a song that blows the A&R manager away, which is still going to take a year or two more of exploring and settling.
Anyways, good tutorial, but i'm going to take the sideways path. |

I don't feel like making a fancy web page when I am not happy with my music.
When I feel the product that I produce is exceptional, then I will present it as exceptional. |

My mom says that the worst enemy of Good is Excellent
Most bands and most musicians have only one or two exceptional pieces in every cd, and people can still enjoy the rest.
I've heard one of your tracks on a CTG mix and I really liked it, so At any rate, whenever you feel like ur ready to expose ur stuff to the public, I wish u all the best.

Good point. Before sending DEMO's the music needs to be 100% awesome... :-)
It took a while, but : It's a new release! (3497 hits) |

I do expose it to the public, but I do it on a way that matches how I feel about my songs.
I usually email labels or artists and say, "here, this is a song I produced. I'm experimenting this... I think these are the strong points... What do you think... Do you have any suggestions?"
If I had songs i felt extremely strong about, it would be a different story, then it could be like this:
"Here, This product is perfect for your company. You can guarantee many sales, perfectly optimized for your labe's target market. it is also a damn good tune (either massive, incredibly fresh and unique)." |
