If you mean Mixer tracks than I rarely ever push 12, 8-12 would be a very accurate account, I used to use way more when I was starting out but I find the more you group your tracks, not only the easier the mixing but the more solid your track is.

Normally I use 20 +/- tracks per production, but it's not uncommon that I end up with more or less.. all depending on the simplicity or detail of the song.

If I want a deatailed soundscape with effects and deep moods, I usually end up with 30+ tracks.

If I want a simple soundscape with a focused mood, I tend to end up with 6 tracks or so..

My latest release A Light in the Window used only 5 tracks.

I normally use more when I use a tracker. I like to keep it simple when I sequence. :D

I usually run out of CPU power and abandon projects at about 10 tracks :eyes:
